European Mobile Giants Agree To App Privacy Standards

Law360, New York (February 27, 2012, 7:20 PM EST) -- Europe's largest mobile operators and a U.K.-based industry group unveiled voluntary app privacy guidelines Monday, days after the largest U.S.-based app platform providers agreed to legally enforceable privacy standards.

Vodafone Group PLC, Deutsche Telekom AG, France Telecom SA Orange and other European mobile operators are implementing the guidelines for their own branded apps, according to global mobile industry advocate the GSM Association.
