Lawmakers Urged To Block China Countervailing Duties Bill

Law360, New York (February 27, 2012, 7:21 PM EST) -- The conservative group Club for Growth on Monday called for Congress to oppose any legislation, including a bill introduced this month, that would allow the U.S. Department of Commerce to impose countervailing duties on imports from China.

The group, which runs a political action committee that donates to Republican candidates, wrote in an alert on its website that countervailing duties imposed on nonmarket economy countries like China "restrict economic liberty and are anti-growth."
