Law360, New York (March 23, 2012, 8:07 PM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission said Friday it has taken its challenge to Phoebe Putney Health System Inc.'s $195 million acquisition of Palmyra Park Hospital Inc. to the nation's highest court, arguing that the Eleventh Circuit had erred in finding the deal exempt from antitrust scrutiny.
The Commission voted 4-0 to authorize its staff to ask the U.S. Solicitor General to file its petition for certiorari at the U.S. Supreme Court, the FTC said. Palmyra is now known as Phoebe North.
