Macy's Denies Brand Favoritism In Martha Stewart Contract Case

Law360, New York (February 28, 2012, 5:48 PM EST) -- Macy's Inc. asked a New York judge on Monday to toss Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia Inc.'s counterclaims in a battle over an allegedly breached licensing deal, targeting MSLO's assertion that Macy's favored its private labels over brands like the Martha Stewart Collection.

Macy's and Macy's Merchandising Group Inc. fired back at the counterclaims MSLO asserted earlier this month, arguing that judgment should be entered in their favor and that MSLO's counterclaims for breach of contract, tortious interference and declaratory judgment should be dismissed with prejudice....
