Judge Shields Getty From 3rd-Party Suits, For Now

Law360, New York (February 28, 2012, 6:23 PM EST) -- A New York bankruptcy court judge granted Getty Petroleum Marketing Inc. a temporary restraining order Tuesday, blocking a dispute for now over a 2009 transfer of gas stations from Getty to then-sister company Lukoil North America LLC and others.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Shelley C. Chapman froze the cases pending a March 8 hearing on the debtor's motion for a preliminary injunction, saying the automatic stay triggered by Getty's bankruptcy applied to the cases, which were filed in various state courts.
