Gateway, HP Ready For ITC Fight Over Computer Patents

Law360, New York (March 10, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- Gateway and Hewlett-Packard, which are entrenched in a dispute over an array of computer and server patents, will face off on March 21 in a closely watched one-week trial before an International Trade Commission administrative law judge.

HP sued rival Gateway last May in a dispute over patents licensed by eMachines, which Gateway acquired in January 2004 for $266 million.

Six weeks later, Gatway countersued for infringement of five of its patents.
