Texas Court Voids $1.7M Award For Wis. Plane Crash Suit

Law360, New York (February 29, 2012, 5:26 PM EST) -- A Texas state appeals court on Wednesday negated a $1.7 million award to AERO Aviation Co. Inc. in an indemnity suit stemming from a product liability suit over a plane crash, saying Wisconsin law — which gives AERO no right to indemnity by a manufacturer — should have applied.

One issue on appeal was whether Wisconsin or Texas law applied to AERO's indemnity claim against Engine Components Inc., and the Fourth Court of Appeals of Texas ruled it was the former.
