CFTC To Examine Energy Trading Regulations

Law360 (August 2, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Commodity Futures Trading Commission will gather members of energy trading, financial services and energy consumer groups in an effort to help Congress determine whether stricter controls on energy exchanges are needed.

The CFTC will hold a hearing on Sept. 18 at its Washington, D.C. headquarters to examine the oversight of trading on regulated futures exchanges and exempt commercial markets, such as the IntercontinentalExchange Inc.
