Jimmy Buffett Ends Trademark Row With Martiniville Eatery

Law360, New York (February 29, 2012, 8:31 PM EST) -- Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville restaurant chain on Wednesday settled its trademark infringement and unfair competition suit against a local Florida restaurant Martiniville Liquor Bar & Kitchen over the little-known establishment's use of the singer-songwriter’s “Margaritaville” mark.

U.S. District Judge Susan C. Bucklew dismissed the case without prejudice after Buffett’s company Margaritaville Enterprises LLC and Martiniville LLC notified the court they had entered into settlement negotiations to resolve the dispute.
