10th Circ. Nixes Wyoming's Yellowstone Snowmobile Appeal

Law360, New York (February 29, 2012, 11:11 PM EST) -- The Tenth Circuit on Wednesday dismissed a suit launched by Wyoming challenging federal rules that limit the daily number of snowmobiles allowed into the Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks, finding that the state lacked standing to challenge the rules.

The appeals court sided with the National Parks Conservation Association and the U.S. Department of the Interior in affirming a lower court ruling that the state of Wyoming lacked standing and found that its argument that the rules hurt the state's tourism industry was purely speculative....
