Pfizer, Apotex End Patent Fight Over Generic Lipitor

Law360, New York (March 1, 2012, 6:24 PM EST) -- An Illinois federal judge on Thursday dismissed Pfizer Inc.’s patent infringement suit against Canadian drugmaker Apotex Inc. over a generic version of anti-cholesterol drug Lipitor after the parties announced they had reached a settlement.

U.S. District Judge Edmond E. Chang approved a joint motion to dismiss without prejudice claims and counterclaims over Apotex’s abbreviated new drug application for generic Lipitor. Terms of the settlement agreement were not disclosed.
