Court Denies Firm's Bid For Cut Of Criminal's Assets

Law360, New York (August 3, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A consulting firm has lost its bid to challenge a forfeiture order against a former Merrill Lynch employee, with an appeals court ruling the firm had no standing to butt in to a criminal proceeding.

The U.S. Court of Appeals affirmed an order of the Manhattan district court denying a motion brought by DSI Associates to intervene in the forfeiture proceedings of the jailed scammer, Daniel Gordon, who was sentence to three and ½ years in prison for his scheme to fleece the investment bank....
