UBS Race Bias Case Transferred To Maryland

Law360, New York (August 3, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge presiding over a race discrimination suit against UBS Financial Services brought by seven African-American brokers has sided with the investment firm and transferred the case from the District of Columbia to Maryland.

Judge Ricardo M. Urbina of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled Thursday that the transfer of the suit to the District of Maryland was appropriate because all of the plaintiffs initially worked at a UBSFS office in Maryland while only two plaintiffs later worked for the firm...
