Coventry, Policyholders Agree To $3.3M Deal Over Copays

Law360, New York (March 6, 2012, 4:01 PM EST) -- Coventry Health Care of Kansas Inc. will pay up to $3.3 million to settle a Missouri class action over the insurer's allegedly improperly excessive copayments, the company said Monday.

The parties submitted a joint settlement motion outlining their agreement to settle after extensive and protracted arms-length negotiation, which will include a fund of nearly $2.7 million to make payments to up to 144,000 members of the settlement class, which alleged that Coventry had overcharged for copayments.
