LA Atty Gets 60 Days For Edwards Campaign Donations

Law360, New York (March 6, 2012, 4:55 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Monday approved a deal that will allow prominent Los Angeles attorney Pierce O’Donnell, accused of illegal campaign contributions to former Sen. John Edwards, to keep his license, though he will spend 60 days in prison.

In a hearing Monday — coincidentally O’Donnell’s 65th birthday — U.S. District Judge S. James Otero gave the go-ahead to a plea deal O’Donnell had joined prosecutors in requesting on Feb. 22, resolving a criminal suit accusing O’Donnell of funneling illegal donations to Edwards' campaign....
