Calif. Legislators Set To Weigh Hydropower Bill

Law360, San Diego (March 7, 2012, 10:47 PM EST) -- California lawmakers will consider a bill later this month that seeks to allow utilities to get credit for using energy from large dams as they try to meet the state's standard of providing 33 percent of their total electricity from renewables by 2020.

The state Senate Standing Committee on Energy, Utilities and Communications on March 20 will review S.B. 971, which was introduced by state Sen. Anthony Cannella, R-Ceres, and co-authored by Assemblywoman Kristin Olsen, R-Modesto.
