Criminal Price-Fixing Suit Against Auto Cos. Gets Go-Ahead

Law360, New York (March 8, 2012, 4:02 PM EST) -- A California federal judge on Thursday refused to toss allegations that Taiwanese company Eagle Eyes Traffic Industrial Co. Ltd. and others conspired to fix prices for replacement vehicle lights, saying prosecutors' claims were viable.

U.S. District Judge Richard Seeborg denied a motion to dismiss the superseding indictment brought by defendants Eagle Eyes, U.S. distributor E-Lite Automotive Inc. and two top executives. The judge found that the indictment cleared the “relatively low threshold” to meet constitutional and criminal procedure requirements, according to Wednesday's order.
