Jury To Weigh In On CEO's "Ageist" Remarks

Law360, New York (August 7, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has refused to dismiss an age discrimination suit brought by a former manager at a division of Champion Home Builders Co. who claims he was fired soon after the company's chief executive officer was heard making ageist comments.

Plaintiff John Ireton-Hewitt worked as the general manager of Champion's Titan Homes manufacturing plant in Sangerfield, N.Y. At the time of his termination on Feb. 12, 2004, Ireton-Hewitt was 66 years old.
