Judge Enables Lionel To Keep Chugging Along

Law360, New York (August 7, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Hoping to speed up Lionel's reorganization process, a federal bankruptcy judge has decided to grant the toy train maker's request to estimate the value of rival Mike's Train House's claims, breaking a stalemate that had threatened to leave the Chapter 11 proceedings at a virtual standstill.

On Friday, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Burton Lifland signed off on the proposal, paving the way for Lionel to exit bankruptcy after a long and grueling process triggered by the duo's bitter trade secrets battle.
