Lawmaker Floats Bill To Revive Clean Tech Loans

Law360, New York (March 9, 2012, 6:08 PM EST) -- Rep. Doris Matsui, D-Calif., on Friday introduced a bill that would revive government funding for renewable energy projects following the expiration of several loan programs in recent months.

The legislation would direct the Small Business Administration to start a clean energy program within the agency's existing 7(a) loan program. Last year, the program doled out $13 billion to small businesses in approved sectors, including rural companies and those that sell U.S.-made goods abroad.
