Supreme Court Rejects Madster Bid

Law360, New York (November 13, 2003, 12:00 AM EST) -- U.S. Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens refused Wednesday to give an emergency stay to the founder of defunct file-sharing service Madster.

Madster founder John Deep, representing himself in the case, had asked the Supreme Court to block an injunction against him until the justices have a chance to consider whether they will review his appeal.

A blocking would have allowed him to resume the service, shut down by a trial court judge last year after based on evidence the Albany-based service violated copyright law....
