Alleged IP Scheme Raises ConocoPhillips' Ire

Law360, New York (August 7, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Trying to recover an earlier patent settlement, energy giant ConocoPhillips Co. on Monday accused a pipeline chemical company of trying to weasel its way out of a $9 million judgment by secretly moving its assets over to a new corporation.

ConocoPhillips alleged that certain owners of Energy & Environmental International LC unloaded all of EEI's unencumbered assets onto a new company, M-Power Chemical LC shortly after the judgment had been approved by the court.
