Ex-Bank Boss Hid Money To Skirt $4.5M Restitution, Feds Say

Law360, New York (March 12, 2012, 7:44 PM EDT) -- Prosecutors on Monday hit Ricky Dale Howard, the former president of First National Bank of Bowie, Texas, with a suit alleging he set up a trust to avoid payments on $4.5 million in criminal restitution for bank fraud.

In a suit filed in Texas federal court, prosecutors accused Howard and his wife Karla F. Howard of creating a trust, initially funded with $24,000, for their children in March 2006, just a few months before Howard’s guilty plea.
