FDA Warns Staples To Control Rodents At Calif. Warehouse

Law360, Chicago (March 13, 2012, 4:43 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration released a warning letter to Staples Inc. on Tuesday detailing a slew of rodent-related food safety violations the agency said it discovered during an inspection of the office supply company's Stockton, Calif., warehouse.

According to the letter dated March 7, the FDA inspected the Staples facility from Oct. 20 through Nov. 3 and found rodent excrement on or near food packages, dead and decaying rodents in traps around the warehouse, and rodent-gnawed holes on candy and other food packages, as...
