Magistrate Urges Court To Lift Stay In Qwest MDL

Law360, New York (August 8, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A magistrate judge has recommended that a federal court lift a discovery stay in the multidistrict securities litigation brought by a group of pension funds in the wake of the $3 billion accounting scandal at Qwest Communications International Inc.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael E. Hegarty said in a report to the court filed Tuesday that U.S. District Judge Robert E. Blackburn should lift the discovery stay as to all parties except for two defendants, Lewis O. Wilks and Stephen M. Jacoben.
