Labor Groups Challenge Air Force Construction Insourcing

Law360, New York (March 13, 2012, 10:54 PM EDT) -- Several labor groups on Tuesday challenged the U.S. Air Force's decision to insource construction and other services at Schriever Air Force Base in Colorado, saying that the decision has the effect of forcing laborers out of work in the absence of termination for just cause.

The suit claims the U.S. Department of Defense unfairly began insourcing construction and maintenance work that for the past 26 years had been performed by private contractors, after deliberately lowering the performance expectations for workers and at higher cost.
