LG, HTC, Others Caught In ITC Video Chat Patent Suit

Law360, New York (March 14, 2012, 2:20 PM EDT) -- An intellectual property licensing company on Tuesday accused LG Electronics Inc., HTC Corp., Research In Motion Corp., Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and other electronics giants of importing smartphones and tablets that infringe five patents covering video conferencing technology.

Virginia-based Pragmatus AV LLC asked the U.S. International Trade Commission to investigate whether products made by LG, HTC, RIM, Samsung, Pantech Co. Ltd. and Asustek Computer Inc. ran afoul of Pragmatus’ patents.
