AuthenTec, Atmel Resolve Fingerprint Patent Dispute

Law360 (August 8, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- AuthenTec Inc. and Atmel Corp., which have been feuding over fingerprint reading patents, have agreed that AuthenTec will withdraw some of its claims while Atmel will withdraw a motion to dismiss and refile its counterclaims.

The agreement, which affects two patent infringement cases between the AuthenTec and Atmel in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, was filed with the court on Wednesday.
