Jury Rules In Favor Of Carl Zeiss In Lens Patent Suit

Law360, New York (March 16, 2012, 2:38 PM EDT) -- A California federal jury ruled in favor of German eyeglass maker Carl Zeiss Vision International GmbH on Wednesday in a suit brought by the company against rival Signet Armorlite Inc., alleging Signet infringed its patent for spherical spectacle optical lenses.

The jury found that Signet did not prove by clear and convincing evidence that three of the claims of the patent-at-issue were anticipated, according to the suit.
