Sens. Demand Release Of Secret Patriot Act Rulings

By Allison Grande (March 16, 2012, 2:59 PM EDT) -- Two Democratic senators urged the Obama administration on Thursday to declassify secret tribunal court rulings that the senators claim broaden the power of the government to seize private records from companies and individuals under the Patriot Act.

Sens. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., and Mark Udall, D-Colo., argued in a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder that the public should be allowed to review classified opinions issued by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court that lay out the administration's "secret legal interpretations" of Section 215 of the Patriot Act.
