GAO Denies TrailBlazer's $442M Medicare Bid Protest

Law360, New York (March 16, 2012, 6:57 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office has denied TrailBlazer Health Enterprises LLC's protest over a $442 million Medicare administration services contract, finding the government made reasonable evaluations and used consistent criteria in the bid process, a decision publicly released Thursday said.

Disputing the decision by the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services that awarded the contract to Highmark Medicare Services Inc., TrailBlazer raised several challenges, including accusations of flaws in the agency's cost realism evaluation and assessment of past performances.
