Collins & Aikman Wins Chapter 11 Extension

Law360, New York (August 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A judge has granted Collins & Aikman's request to keep its Chapter 11 case open for another six months, after the auto parts maker warned it would need “the court's continued supervision” after bankruptcy.

Ruling the company had shown sufficient cause for the extension, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Steven Rhodes issued an order Wednesday pushing back the closing of Collins & Aikman's case to Feb. 28, 2008.

The judge also granted the auto parts maker's request to file future notices requesting yet more time if necessary....
