Kirkland Helps Vista Make $2B Bid For Software Co. Misys

Law360, New York (March 19, 2012, 1:45 PM EDT) -- California private equity firm Vista Equity Partners has put in a official £1.27 billion ($2 billion) cash offer for banking software maker Misys PLC, sprinting ahead in a takeover race against rival investors, Misys said Monday.

Independent directors for Misys have recommended the proposal, which would sell off nearly 362 million shares of the software company's stock for 350 pence per share to Vista investment vehicle Magic Bidco Ltd.
