Privacy, FCPA Probes Close Dun & Bradstreet China Unit

Law360, New York (March 19, 2012, 6:27 PM EDT) -- Business information provider Dun & Bradstreet Corp. announced Sunday it was temporarily shutting down a Chinese unit over allegations it transferred consumer data to clients in breach of the country's privacy laws and violated the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.

Local police have opened an investigation into Shanghai Roadway Dun & Bradstreet Marketing Services Co. Ltd. following a television news report that the company sold information about wealthy consumers to clients for advertising purposes, the Shanghai Daily reported.
