Calif. To Take Up Utility Commission Revolving-Door Bill

Law360, San Diego (March 19, 2012, 8:02 PM EDT) -- A California Senate committee will consider a bill Tuesday seeking to block California Public Utilities Commission officials from working for the companies they regulate and utilities executives from joining the agency for a two-year period, a proposal that has drawn fire from the agency.

The Senate Energy, Utilities and Communications committee will review S.B. 981, introduced in January by Sen. Leland Yee, D-San Francisco/San Mateo, that would bar a CPUC commissioner or executive from working at or serving as an agent of a regulated utility company...
