New York City Steam Blast Victims Sue Con Ed

Law360 (August 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two people caught in the middle of a major steam pipe explosion in downtown Manhattan on July 18 filed lawsuits on Tuesday accusing New York utility Consolidated Edison Co., the operator of the pipe, of gross negligence.

Greg McCullough, a tow truck driver, and Judith Bailey, his passenger, were driving back to Bailey's house in Brooklyn when a major steam pipe in midtown Manhattan exploded, tossing McCullough's truck into the air.
