MF Global Can't Hire Trustee's Firm For Consulting Work

Law360, New York (March 19, 2012, 11:16 PM EDT) -- A U.S. trustee objected Monday to MF Global Holdings Ltd. trustee Louis Freeh’s move to hire his firm as a consultant to the bankrupt broker, saying it does not comply with the Bankruptcy Code.

In a filing made in New York bankruptcy court, U.S. Trustee Tracy Hope Davis said Freeh Group International Solutions LLC does not fall under the Bankruptcy Code’s Section 327 — which allows a trustee to hire his or her own company only if it is a law firm or an accounting firm...
