Former Motorola Engineer Demands New IP Theft Trial

Law360, New York (March 20, 2012, 3:45 PM EDT) -- A former Motorola Solutions Inc. software engineer convicted of stealing trade secrets filed a motion Monday for a new trial, saying the judge made numerous errors in a case that involved the employee trying to take thousands of technical documents to China.

Hanjuan Jin, a naturalized U.S. citizen born in China, was found guilty last month on three counts of trade secrets theft. She faces 10 years in prison on each count when she is sentenced April 18 in Illinois federal court.
