DC Circ. Prods NSA On FOIA Response To Google Doc Seekers

Law360, Washington (March 20, 2012, 7:25 PM EDT) -- A D.C. Circuit panel on Tuesday questioned the National Security Agency’s response to a Freedom of Information Act request for materials related to a purported cybersecurity agreement with Google Inc., saying it hadn’t seen enough evidence to justify the NSA’s refusal to comply.

NSA told the court that releasing any communication between the agency and Google to the Electronic Privacy Information Center, a privacy watchdog, would confirm a continuing relationship with the technology and Internet giant and could jeopardize NSA's mission to promote cybersecurity.
