Indirect Buyers Don't Need In-State Roost In Egg Antirust MDL

Law360, New York (March 20, 2012, 8:59 PM EDT) -- A Pennsylvania judge ruled Monday that indirect purchasers have standing to sue egg producers for price-fixing under state antitrust laws in Iowa, Mississippi and the Dakotas even though the plaintiffs neither live nor bought egg products in those jurisdictions.

U.S. District Judge Gene E.K. Pratter issued a mixed decision on a nearly two-year-old motion to dismiss the bulk of the claims brought by indirect purchasers, which is itself just one facet of the long-running MDL that also includes a proposed class of direct buyers as well...
