Diego Sues Audible Over Audio Download Patent

Law360, New York (March 26, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- A digital media company founded by Microsoft alumnus Paul Allen has filed a lawsuit against audio-book retailer Aurible, Inc. over a patent for downloading and storing books, music, videos and computer software onto a personal storage system.

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington in Seattle, claims that Audible's method of selling and distributing audiobooks is "functionally indistinguishable" from the electronic book distribution system described in a patent held by Diego, Inc.
