Pfizer Wins Preliminary Injunction Vs. Teva, Ranbaxy In Accupril Suit

Law360, New York (March 29, 2005, 12:00 AM EST) -- Pfizer, Inc. has won a preliminary injunction halting sales of a generic version of the hypertension drug Accupril, marketed by Israeli generics maker Teva Pharmaceuticals and Indian drug maker Ranbaxy Pharmaceuticals.

In a decision issued Tuesday, Judge Dickinson R. Debevoise of the U.S. District Court of New Jersey ordered Teva and Ranbaxy to immediately stop marketing the product which Teva had launched in December 2004 under its own label as part of an agreement with Ranbaxy.
