Fed. Circ. Calls Stipulation Agreement A Contract In USPS Row

Law360, New York (March 26, 2012, 2:22 PM EDT) -- The Federal Circuit on Friday reversed a U.S. Court of Federal Claims ruling that the lower court couldn't hear a former employee’s complaint alleging the U.S. Postal Service violated a settlement agreement because it was not a contract.

The appeals panel found that a stipulation agreement attached to a settlement of a complaint that the Postal Service had violated the Pregnancy Discrimination Act is a contract for enforcement purposes.
