American Home Wants Cadwalader As Special Counsel

Law360, New York (August 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Bankrupt lender American Home Mortgage Holdings Inc. has asked for court approval to appoint law firm Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft LLP as special counsel in its Chapter 11 case.

In a motion filed Friday in the Delaware bankruptcy court, the beleaguered lender said it wanted the firm to act as counsel for all corporate, securities, tax, regulatory, litigation and other “nonbankruptcy” matters.
