Toyota Dragged Into PJC's Vehicle Tracking IP Campaign

Law360, New York (March 23, 2012, 4:40 PM EDT) -- Patent-holding company PJC Logistics LLC on Thursday added Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc. to the long list of companies it has accused of infringing its vehicle tracking patent.

Hewitt, Texas-based PJC claims in a complaint filed in California federal court that the Japanese carmaker's Lexus subsidiary knowingly and intentionally infringed the oft-asserted car tracking patent with its Lexus Enform GPS navigation system.

The Enform system is a computerized, smartphone-linked navigation and entertainment system available in the console of higher-end Lexus models. It features the company's "Safety Connect" service, which connects the car to a response center in cases of emergency....
