BMW Recalls 1.3 Million Cars Worldwide Over Cable Problem

Law360, Chicago (March 26, 2012, 5:52 PM EDT) -- Luxury carmaker BMW AG said Monday that it is recalling roughly 1.3 million BMW 5 and 6 Series vehicles around the globe so that authorized dealers can repair a battery cable cover problem that might cause electrical systems to malfunction.

In order to carry out what it calls a "quality measure," BMW said it was recalling vehicle models of the previous generation that were built between 2003 and 2010 and are still on the market. The recall affects approximately 367,000 vehicles in the U.S., according to...
