Sexual Harassment Claims Against Caterpillar Survive

Law360, New York (August 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge on Thursday refused to dismiss a handful of sexual harassment claims filed against heavy equipment maker Caterpillar Inc. by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission on behalf of current and former employees.

Judge Rebecca R. Pallmeyer of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois granted in part and denied in part Caterpillar’s request for summary judgment in the case brought by the EEOC in 2003, paving the way for five separate claims of harassment to head towards trial.
