$45M Winning Bid For Bankrupt NJ Hospital OK'd

Law360, New York (March 27, 2012, 8:06 PM EDT) -- A federal bankruptcy judge on Tuesday approved a hospital operator's $45.3 million bid for bankrupt Christ Hospital in Jersey City, N.J., over a competing offer.

Hudson Hospital Holdco LLC beat out Community Healthcare Associates for the financially troubled health care complex, which filed for Chapter 11 protection last month after a proposed sale to Prime Healthcare Services of California fell apart.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Morris Stern's decision came one day after the hospital's board voted unanimously to support Hudson Hospital's proposal.
