MEMC Wins Dismissal Of Antitrust Claims

Law360 (August 14, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A California federal court has crushed Sumitomo Mitsubishi Silicon Corp.'s antitrust claims against Missouri-based silicon wafers manufacturer MEMC Electronic Materials Inc., ruling that MEMC's patent infringement lawsuit against the Japanese industrial conglomerate was not a sham.

U.S. District Judge Saundra Brown Armstrong of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California granted MEMC's motion for summary judgment Monday, dismissing Sumitomo's attempted monopolization and patent misuse claims.
