Symphony Technology Raises $870M Fund

Law360, New York (March 28, 2012, 2:08 PM EDT) -- Symphony Technology Group has raised a new $870 million fund to further invest in software and other technology companies, it said Tuesday, in the midst of a mergers and acquisitions streak for the California private equity firm's portfolio members.

The close of the fund, STG IV, hit its fundraising targets and is “significantly more” than the firm's last fund, Symphony Technology said. New investors and those with a long-term relationship with the firm were part of the capital-raising, which will be used to build up talent,...
